Our services

Taylor Street Creative Space offered a range of services to support your creative projects and learning goals. Although the space is closing, we will continue to offer some of these services (especially tutoring and project support) in 2027 and beyond so please get in touch to discuss further.

Members could use our range of tools and machinery for their projects.

That included sewing machines, craft tools, an electronics workbench, 3D printers, laser cutters, vinyl cutters, and more.

Workshops & Training

We ran hands-on workshops and training sessions covering a range of different tools and techniques.

Members could also host and run their own workshops.

Custom Fabrication

A drop-in repair service for things like kid's toys, gadgets, and household items.

This was at an hourly rate, with extra costs where we had to source or fabricate replacement parts. We also offered a guided repair option where you could participate as much or as little as you liked.

Private Lessons

Get personalized one-on-one training on specific tools or software to accelerate your learning, or if there's a project you'd like assistance with we're here to help.

Tutoring

We offer three tutoring services:

  • All-ages: Had a project in mind or a specific skill you wanted to learn? We offered training and tutoring in any of the tools, equipment, and software in the space, with a lesson plan customised to your needs. Rates are $50/hour for individuals, or $75/hour for groups up to 3.
  • Students (HSC & university), private: Private tutoring in mathematics, physics, chemistry, computing, and engineering subjects (including extension) up to HSC level, and some university units, for $50/hour.

This is a community-oriented service, and we keep the prices as low as possible — we want to make these subjects accessible to as many students as possible. We have a particular interest in fostering a "how is this useful in the real world" approach to drive curiosity and engagement, using the equipment in the space wherever possible to demonstrate key concepts.
